Howdy, I’m A.D. Perry. I am a mother of one wonderful boy who is just trying to carve out my own little bookish space in the world.

To be perfectly honest with you, I’m not an expert. I don’t have any fancy degrees in English or literature or any degrees at all really. My reviews won’t delve into the deep, philosophical themes of a book. They will be a rating, general overview of my thoughts and feelings, and what stood out to me. They will be honest.

That is my guarantee to all and if any of my reviews and recommendations can help even just one person pick up a new book or perhaps avoid a book they know they won’t enjoy, this will all be worth it.

The quote above was made by my late Papa—my best friend in the entire world. It is a quote that I am trying to live up to with this new adventure. A proud Lakota-Sioux, this blog is also so titled after his native name of “Long Time Standing Tree”.

Growing up, I spent most of time flittering in and out of various activities and hobbies. I’m sure much to his disappointment, I dropped private martial arts classes and piano lessons personally curated by him several times. I never stuck to any one thing for very long.

With this blog, my aim is to make my best friend proud of me (I’m sure he already is for other reasons but still…) for finally finding a passion and sticking with it.
