Review Policy

Just in the off-chance an author or publisher stumbles upon my humble book blog, please read the guidelines for requesting a review below. Means of contacting me will be underneath should you agree to the guidelines below.

Guidelines

  • I will not accept a request if it has a deadline of less than a month. I am slower, hobbyist mom reader and have a full plate of unpredictable life responsibilities.
  • I will only accept books in Kindle format. I have a kid who likes to rip (and sometimes eat) any and all paper products…
  • My reviews will be always be honest and formatted in the way I’ve stated on my “Review Format” page.
  • I will post my reviews on this blog, Goodreads, and StoryGraph. If there is another platform you’d like me to post my review to, please let me know in your inquiry. (It is not guaranteed I will post to them.)
    • On Goodreads & StoryGraph, I tend to remove spoilers from my reviews and direct readers to this blog for my full review.
    • I post pins with links to my reviews here on Pinterest.
  • I reserve the right to not finish any book given to me and/or to not post a review for it if I do not feel comfortable doing so. However, I will share my reasons for DNFing or not reviewing with you privately via email.
  • Genres I’m most likely to read:
    • Mystery/Thriller/Suspense, Horror, Romance, Historical Fiction, Young Adult, Manga
  • Genres or content I will not accept:
    • Non-Fiction, Self-Help, Romance with explicit adult/triggering material (e.g. sex, rape, body horror, etc.)

    • Title, Author, Genre(s), & Length
    • A brief synopsis of the story
    • If applicable: Any additional platforms you’d like the review to be posted to besides the ones listed in the “Guidelines” section above. (Remember: not guaranteed)
    • If applicable: A general date/time you’d like the review to be posted by/on. (Remember: not guaranteed)
    • If applicable: Any other information you deem important for me to know (e.g., book contains potentially triggering content).

I do not and will not receive compensation for my reviews. Books received by authors or publishers will always be indicated separately at the top of my reviews in a “Thank You” note to the source. If you do not see a “Thank You” note on the review, I borrowed or purchased the book myself.
